Why Put Ebay Crap Here????????????????

Why I ask??????????????????????????

N4ATS November 30th 03 10:26 PM

Why not? I have bought some hard to find Amateur Radio Parts that you
can't find anywhere , As a matter of fact I buy most if not all ham
stuff on eBay. My last FT-1000MP Mark V was mint , and for $1450 , you
can't ask for much more..You should try it...

For me -- I have found rare (not price wise) Ham items on E-Bay that I have
never seen here.

Example Kenwood made an outstanding grid dip meter -- found on E-Bay thru a
notice here. Took 2 years to find one.

I have an HF Swan large swr meter -- wanted the matching VHF unit -- found
on E-Bay thru a notice here. Never saw one anywhere in the last several
years.

Another is a Kenwood TS-811 for 440 MHz -- not many sold I suspect --- but
have
seen a few on E-Bay.

So go ahead and post your FA E-Bay items here -- who knows one might find
a Knightkit OceanHopper by this means.

Quite frankly, I don't see the problem. The whole point of this swap

number of items for sale here?

Ed WB6SAT

RP Jones December 2nd 03 04:10 AM

Not the problem, some do and also do a "buy now option" well yea OK

But we have some abusive characters here blowing out teasers every 10

This is clear out abusive, out of line, yet no one has the nuts (perhaps you
YL's clipped them years ago) to speak out or give a VALID defense for
spammers like this ! BTW: Shame on you RLucch2098 and "some" others keeping

HOW ABOUT a valid answer why the **abuse** (written above) bovine

Each to his own I buy, sell, swap on eBay and the newsgroups. I enjoy myself. It is obvious though that the only way some people can enjoy themselves is to complain. I have tried but I can see no way to fit complaining into the purpose of the newsgroup. Obviously eBay does fit. So lets ban complainers.

Personally, I have made a couple purchases from this guy and have been

50? The result is the same. A happy customer who was looking for a

Hi All,
As with all things, there are 2 sides to the argument here. If I want to selll
something on ebay, I list it there and don't post a teaser ad on the NG's. If I
want to sell something on the NG's, I post it there.
That being said, I think that some folks DO overdo it by posting a LOT of FA
ads on the NG's. Those folks should be restrained, but I'm not the internet
police, so it isn't for me to enforce. I personally don't filter them out as I
might just want to take a look. What I take exception to is folks that post FS
ads, then it turns out to be an ebay plug. I am also not too keen on those that
make a living out of buying these old rigs, then jacking up the price by about
200% and re-selling. Those folks are out there in ALL areas, not just
boatanchors. All in all, I try to just take it in stride and appreciate all the
good folks on the net, disregarding the creeps.
Just an opinion....

Probably because this group is NOT called alt.ebay.reflector

Just like the useless cb'ers with a callsign and their 2-meter hamshacks on

Just an observation.....If I need some radio stuff, I look both here and
e-bay. In my view, my time is limited and valuable. Having FA stuff on here
wastes my time. Yes I use filters because I don't need to see FA stuff here
too. It seems to me that if somebody insists on using variations of "FA" in
his/her post subject lines, is in fact guilty of SPAMMING.

Thats an interesting observation! I find this circumstance to be just
the opposite for me. It is much easier to look here in this single
concise listing for ALL ham gear available, rather than having to hunt and
search through E-Bay listings, which are much more spread out than here.
Then again, I am usually looking at all gear.... browsing.... rather than
any particular piece of equipment.

Who really cares about FS / FA.
If you don't care to view the FA's, don't.
If you do care to view them, do.
It's that simple.
Grow up! Life is way to important!!

When I am looking for ham gear, I am looking for specific items. A
simple search on E-bay tells me if its there or not, then I leave it
in a notify mode... if one of what I am looking for shows up, I get
an e-mail. This saves me a lot of time. My time is worth
$60/hr...what is *your* time worth??

Well, at work, its $86.00 / hour. However, this is a hobby for me,
as for most of us I think, so wouldn't really want to place a value on it.
Many of us are probably retired anyway.

When we amortize 'our time' out over even something as short as our own
lifetime, it becomes worth a very small fiscal amount... the only true value
to 'our time' is in the living, and that is far too short for argument and
anger.
