Sony has retrogressed badly on synch detection. A good deal is where both sides come out better off, and it's only possible because people customarily disagree about value. That's why you want economic activity, in fact; every voluntary trade makes both sides better off, so the more of them the higher the standard of living. Taxing trades heavily enough stops economic activity, because you can't find disagreement on value large enough to cover the tax, and the standard of living falls.
