Default Why so much Ebay crap ?

Why post 10 or 20 separate Items of Ebay and not say something like "FA:
list"

Cause it is an open unmoderated newsgroup and some are clueless and others
want to trap you into reading their post knowing that many don't read FA's.

Whats wrong with eBay? I buy most of ALL my equipment there. I just
bought a mint unopened Kenwood TS-870SAT for about 1/2 the cost. I also
buy things you can not find anywhere else. Why bash them? If it was not
for an FA: on here a few months back about an Alpha 89 , I would have
never found it and I won it... N4ATS

http://www.faqs.org/faqs/radio/swap-guide/ :

It has become common practice to append "FS" ("For Sale"), "WTB"
("Want To Buy"), or "WTT" ("Want To Trade") to the subject line of an
ad. With the new online auction service, eBay, we ask that you include
"FA" ("For Auction") and also "eBay" to your subject line if you
choose to place an auction notice. (Note that a recent straw poll
revealed that many readers are not happy seeing auction notices on
r.r.swap - post such notices at your own risk! If you fail to append
"FA" and "eBay" in your subject line, you will surely be flamed.)

Ben -- Perhaps these guidelines will help -- see URL:
http://faqs.jmas.co.jp/FAQs/radio/personal-intro

FS, FA, E-Bay, WTB are all very common here and since it is an open
unmoderated NG -- it will undoubtedly continue to be so.

Which is OK since that rare long desired item may pop here whether FS, FA,
E-Bay, or swap. There are other auction sites -- not just E-Bay e.g.
http://auctions.yahoo.com/

And that unsold item you just can't seem to sell may be another's treasure
and they post a WTB -- Want To Buy -- whopppeee

This group gets buyers and sellers from all over the world -- good market
place.

BTW -- I love E-Bay -- found some great bargains and rare Ham items there --
but you gotta know what you are doing and understand how Auctions work and
that Auctions are a great American tradition and have there place

I thought this was a group for *swapping* radio's etc.
Not for selling, auctioning or wanting to buy.

Ben -- swap is Ham Jargon for buy or sell as well as trade -- hams have
used it for years as a way to sell, buy, trade, and announce a want to buy
item.

A good example is a 40M net that has been on the air for 25 years that I
know of -- probably longer.
SWAPCARS -- 40 Meter Weekend Swap Net - 7.240MHz.
Started as WESTCARS
Every Saturday and Sunday, 1245 to 1630 PST.

There you can tune in every weekend and hear many items for sale as well as
swap or want to buy

And all across the country there are HF and VHF "Swap Nets'

Oh well. I was simply pointing out the obvious.

A tip for you: When joining any group, it is best to monitor for a while to see
how things are done before jumping right in and having the potential of having
your nuts handed to you.

Any way you look at it, you are still swapping. Swapping a radio. gear,
etc. for cash, credit, etc... It's all a swap!
