Maybe your average ham doesn't want to say much, only caring to exchange RST's for a card! This is actually what deters me from PSK31, most seem to only want a limited contact.. Wow, my experience has been different. Aside from the obvious short DX contact, I've spent a lot of time with pretty verbose people on psk31. I recall one 3+ hour contact on 80 meters.
