Reflected EM waves existing without energy is one of
the bigger claptrap science concepts on this newsgroup.

For the record, you're the only one who has ever made any reference
waves existing without energy on this newsgroup.

I doubt that you will understand it any better this time, but for the
authoritative explanation of the concept (which you have always
totally misconstrued), please refer to page 47 of Born and Wolf, 6th
Edition. Under the heading "Total Reflection" you will find the
following: "All the incident light is then reflected back into the
first medium and we speak of total reflection. Nevertheless the
electromagnetic field in the second medium does not disappear, only
there is not longer a flow of energy across the boundary."

Hi Dave -

We apparently each have our own approach for trying to quash the spewing
of claptrap science on r.r.a.a. I wish you better luck with yours than
I've had with mine.

i tried your method... decided instead to just plonk all those guys and just
watch your and maybe one or two other logical responders. give up, it won't
work, learn to use the kill file and enjoy the peace and quiet.

My message filter file for this newsgroup isn't devoid of entries
either. But I actually do enjoy much of what Cecil has to say. I
always have. In a perfect world he would spare us the nonsense. But
there really is no such thing as perfection, is there.

So as a New Years resolution I will try not to feed any trolls. :-)

Thank you,

ac6xg

It's a logical conclusion is that if EM waves don't
transfer energy it's because they don't have any
energy to transfer.

Nevertheless the electromagnetic field in
the second medium does not disappear, only there is not longer a flow of
energy across the boundary."

That's my argument, Jim. The electromagnetic field
that does not disappear is the fields that you say
never existed in the first place.
