... In this modern world, too many people mistake good manners for weakness. I've had to demonstrate the fallacy of that on occasion. A person without good manners isn't equipped with all the tools needed to be highly successful. Those without manners can become successful, but it is in spite of those poor manners, not because of it. - 73 de Mike N3LI - Look, let me be honest here, when I walk into a place and want/need/request something--I simply want it; if I find a nice person able to fulfill that want/request--it is icing on the cake. But, just give me my request! What I keep running into in life are places where the employees are all arranging the situation to "please" themselves (that usually means they "get rid" of qualified individuals who are a "threat" to their job position) with a great work environment and service sucks (indeed, I am now ending up with "pleasant" a-holes in India/china/Malaysia on help lines! This REALLY peeves me!)--it is a job, yanno? That is why they call it "work!" Now if both can be accomplished, great service AND a wonderful and nurturing environment for "them"--GREAT! I can't be fooled--I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE! :-D Regards, JS |
