Other than the obvious (he was mistaken in what he reported to me) any ideas as to what went wrong? You mean the shorted coils and the extra wire? (Maybe he should have turned it off, and then back on again - Oops, standard IT advice.) Haven't a clue. I don't think he will ask for any more advice from me.
