A ham friend bought this antenna. I checked his match with the antenna on
the ground reflector down on plastic sawhorses 2 feet above ground and the director pointed to the sky. 10 and 15m matched just fine. 12 and 17 were ok but 20m was way out of match. We reduced the 1st and 3d element tips to 7 inches and have a good match at 14.100 but in the phone portion around 14.250 the match was 4.6:1. When at 8 inches the match was over 6. Does anyone have any experience with this antenna? I want to be cautious about cutting the tip portions of ele 1 and 3 so I can shorten the elements more and hopefully bring the antenna into proper swr range. The band width on 20 is only 90 kHz. Any help or comments would be helpful. BTW Cushcraft has not yet answered any of his calls. tnx donald wk6q -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! -----== Over 100,000 Newsgroups - 19 Different Servers! =----- |
