If antennas are physically about the same size you are not going to
see a dime's worth of difference between them.

If you happen to look at your S-meter when driving you will note it is
not unusual to see signals varying more that 20 dB as you are diving.
Believe me you will never notice a 1-2 dB difference.

I'm using the Comet CA-2x4SR . It seems to work quite well on 70cm
and about the same as 5/8 wave on 2m. I had originally tried a
Jetstream JT7905L and it actually seemed a little better on 2m and
70cm receive, but the swr was higher than I liked on the high end of
70cm where the local repeater inputs are .

I've had two dual band mobile Comets that seem to get water logged in
the loading coil. It seems to loose gain especiually on 2 meters after
about 1 year on the car. The coil is well sealed so I think it is a
condensation problem. I have drilled a small hole in this last one to
let the water vapor OUT and it seems to have solved the problem.

Hi,

I have had good luck with the Larsen 2/440 with the NMO mount.

Good luck,

Larsen NMO2/70B or NMO2/70C in years of mobile operation no other
mobile antenna has delivered the day after day performance these antennas
have.
