No Spam wrote in message Just a suggestion. When selling, please include KL7 and KH6, just say, "buyer pays shipping or U.S. only". Please, everyone, drop the "Lower 48". That's unnecessary. As is the tendency to not ship to military APO/FPO, which is the same as shipping to either SFO or JFK, and are technically in the mainland US.... Then there is shipping to Canada, which many in the U.S. refuse to do for some reason. The best way (in my experience) is to use USPS parcel post. The sender has only to fill out a little green customs declaration (just call it Amateur Radio equipment or Amateur Radio parts) and pay the postage (usually quite reasonable). At the recieving end, Canada Post charges a flat 5 $ brokerage fee. There is no customs duty on Amateur Radio equipment so the receiver pays only applicable sales taxes plus the 5 $ brokerage. And, like your customers in Alaska and Hawaii, we understand about the time in transit. Even size and weight are not always a problem (obviously you can't send a truck through the mail). Parcels which are oversize or overweight are charged a premium but they can still be sent by the Post Office. Don't forget your brothers north of the 49th. .... Martin VE3OAT |
