I bought it from an estate and when I fired it up I noticed the hum when I turned on the HV switch.... it has the solid state recitifer replacements and 4 brand new 811's I doubt I ever use it and I'de like to get my $250.00 back out of it...lol Most rigs have some power transformer or choke hum. In fact, my HX-50 hums louder as I crank up the RF drive -- and will probably "sing along" with voice peaks on SSB. I briefly owned one of those HK linears. The main PS choke had an internal arc-over that pretty well drowned out any hum, and kept it from going on the air. But it was nice to watch those four 811s light up. --Mike K.
