I use an EICO 720 nightly on 80 meters. I bought and built mine in the mid
1960s. Although I never get one phone I have used it on AM in years past and know you can easily adapt most any ham modulator. The EICO 730 actually did not get the audio reports as I did when I used an old WRL modulator. Good rig. Key clicks on some, it never plagued me on mine but some were able to clean them up just by placing a 0.01 capacitor between the key terminals. Good luck and enjoy! Hi Guys: Yesterday I was fortunate enough to pick up a few more Boatanchors for the collection.....Another RACAL RA-17 with ISB Converter, and an EICO 720 Transmitter. The Transmitter is in Nice Condition both Physically and Electrically...a Real Cool Looking little Rig!! I do not have the Manual for this yet.....so don't know much about it...except that it's supposed to be 90 Watts CW and AM???? Has anyone out there got one of these...or have you ever used one??? I would appreciate any comments on the Rig either Good Bad or Ugly!! Is it possible to hook a Microphone directly to the Rig??? I see there is a Plug on the Back of the Transmitter that says "Modulator"......Do I need something in between the Mic and the Transmitter...or can a Mic just be wired to that plug and away we go??? Any info, advice, comments pertaining the the Eico 720 Transmitter are greatly appreciated! 73.........ROB VA3SW Antique/Vintage Radio Enthusiast Amateur Radio Stations VA3SW/VE3JFC Defy Physics.....Play Table Tennis!!
