ummmm...
I don't know who told you that was "original unmodifed,"
but it ain't so. It's been very heavily hacked up.
Might get $20-$25 if you sell it on Ebay, Ed.
Sorry, OM.

It's actually a BC-459A but I wouldn't say "badly hacked".The extra
antenna insulator and toggle switch added to the front panel are the
most obvious breaches.

That mount it's sitting on is certainly a desirable item.

Power connector has also been replaced with an octal.

That mount is missing most of it's pieces, including
the connection box in the back, which is where all
the important parts go.

I'd not buy it myself, but I'm sure someone would like
to have it. I doubt it will sell at anything like
the asking price. But then, what do I know?

David,
Ya got me. I missed the octal power socket. And I'm just not
familiar with the details of the mount.I know that they are hard to
find. I could have almost accepted the extra antenna post if it were
carefully aligned.

I'll confess, in my day, I was a Command set hacker. It seems the
object was to do anything possible to keep it from looking like a
Command set. You should have seen what I did to a nice BC-458 when I
built my first SSB rig in 1958.

Luckily, I still have a clean BC-455 and 459.

John
