Back when I used to listen to it (60's through mid-70's) it had enough of a variety of programming to make it worth using stereo, and none was available. But who needs stereo on a talk station? It's a waste. Why is it a waste? Spots are stereo. Jingles are stereo. Bumpers are stereo and a creative programmer or engineer could easily make local interviews stereo by panning each person slightly off center. If you take most syndicated programming, you're out of luck. Rich How many talk stations use the creative programing you suggest? Would not think the spots etc. are sufficient reason to have stereo if the main program is null to stereo. |
