iHeartMedia has promoted Kentucky-Indiana Metro SVP/Sales Kristy Beebe to
Market President of their Indianapolis cluster. Beebe, who was previously
based in Louisville, will relocate to Indianapolis. She has been with the
company since 2005 with previous stints as Local Sales Manager and General
Sales Manager for their clusters in Toledo and Louisville. She also has
been an Account Executive for Cumulus in her native Toledo.

Beebe succeeds Brett Beshore who had led the cluster since January 2018.

iHeartMedia announced today that Kristy Beebe has been named Market
President for Indianapolis, effective immediately. iHeartMedia Indianapolis
has a strong cross-platform presence and includes a number of iconic brands
and franchises — both broadcast and digital — encompassing five stations
comprised of Classic Rock, Alternative, Hip Hop and RB, Sports and Business
News.

iHeartMedia has the leading consumer reach and influence across multiple
platforms and delivers more live programming than any other media company.
As Market President, Beebe will work closely with the programming, business
and sales teams and oversee all of the station’s on-air and digital
programming as well as create new revenue opportunities. She will report to
Earl Jones, President for iHeartMedia Kentucky-Indiana Metro.

Beebe will be based in Indianapolis and most recently served as the Region
Senior Vice President of Sales for the Kentucky-Indiana Metro. She has held
various sales leadership positions throughout her career, including Local
Sales Manager and General Sales Manager for iHeartMedia Toledo and
iHeartMedia Louisville. She began her career in sales at iHeartMedia in her
hometown of Toledo, Ohio and is a graduate of Lourdes University.

“I am so excited for Kristy’s well-deserved promotion to Market President,”
said Jones. “She has earned the opportunity to lead our Indianapolis
market. Kristy has been an incredible sales leader, coach, and major
contributor to the success of iHeartMedia Kentucky-Indiana Metro.”

I am so thankful to Earl Jones and the iHeartMedia team for this new
leadership opportunity,” said Beebe. “I am ready to lead the Indianapolis
team to new heights as we work together to provide unmatched service to our
listeners, advertisers and the community.”

WHUR Adds Translator For The Quiet Storm Station

Posted: 03 Mar 2021 08:18 AM PST
https://radioinsight.com/headlines/2...storm-station/

After launching The Quiet Storm Station on 96.3 WHUR-HD2 Washington DC in
December, Howard University has added its programming to 98.3 W252DC Reston
VA.

The translator, owned by recently retired broadcast attorney John
Garziglia, had been most recently carrying the broad Variety Hits Gamut
programming from Hubbards 103.5 WTOP-HD3. The 150w/135m signal is strongest
in the Western parts of the District and adjacent towns in Virginia and
Maryland.

The soft soothing sound of WHUR’S 24/7 Quiet Storm Station is expanding,
giving more Washington, D.C. area listeners a chance to experience the
relaxing romantic format. Listeners with analog radios can now tune in to
hear their favorite slow jams non-stop on 98.3FM.

The expansion comes as the heritage flagship station 96.3 WHUR FM is set to
mark its 50th Anniversary this year. “WHUR has long been a trailblazer in
the industry and we are always looking for new opportunities to expand our
brand. The addition of 98.3FM now allows us to have a greater reach across
the DMV,” said WHUR General Manager Sean Plater.

The Quiet Storm Station was launched last December on 96.3HD2 holding true
to the original flavor of the Quiet Storm set in place back in 1976 by the
late Melvin Lindsey and still heard nightly on WHUR 96.3FM. “Whether in
your office, car, or at home; the Quiet Storm Station sets the right mood
for the DMV and now with 98.3FM there are more ways for Washington to relax
and unwind,” added Plater.
