Thnx I had a D201, which of course had the VFO modded to cover the full 40 channels, and I can tell you it was a awesome radio. I regret basically giving it away, but as things go, interests change from time to time. Oh well. And why? Do you have a chance to pick one up? |

The major differences is that the D201A was made in Mexico, unconfirmed, and had the tube sockets mounted on PCBs. The D201 also a tube rig used point to point wiring. try Googling "tram D201" james |

Better immunity to overload. Still 455KHz second IF is to high a frequency to not use ceramic or crytal filters. Lower IF frequencies are more suseptable to image problems but are not bad for LC filters. james | |james wrote: | On Fri, 02 May 2008 11:32:04 -0400, Purr Plexed | wrote: | | | | | | |Which is better - Tram D201 or D201a and why? | | | |I've heard some people say the D201 is better, but I've never heard a | |decisive reason as to why. | | | |Thnx | | | |------------------ | | It really is a matter of preeference.
