Not that I really expected you to admit it. It's
the same as when you're bootlegging on those other
HF bands.

but i do knock out some mean cw on a straight

key and have since i was 12 years old.

And still can't get a legit Ham license.

you keep working
the world on the internet and thru other links

provided to you and we'll keep
working the world direct via the radio, antenna

to antenna.

You're ticked because Hams have a system like
Echo-Link that you can't use and abuse like 11m
when you please. You have to be a licensed Ham,
something you're not. Besides CBers don't have any
thing like it for two reasons, one most aren't
smart enough to implement a system like that, and
second many like you have no respect for rules and
would end up wrecking the usefulness by your abuse
of the system if there was one.

Also with software like Win 2K Pro and XP Pro a
feature called terminal services comes in real
handy. Set up a server running terminal services
with a rig control program and a VoIP app with the
sound card interfaced to the speaker and mic jacks
on the rig and you can have a lot of fun. Put the
rig in VOX mode to work with the VoIP app and the
sound card interface is simple. Then from ANYWHERE
you can log in to the server, start the rig
control software and the VoIP app, and now you
have a nice remote base you can operate just as if
you where sitting at the controls. In fact there
is a complete Ham station setup this way complete
with amplifier and antenna rotor control on the
Internet. As and example I could sit at the
computer in my office and play radio and not have
to worry about where to stick the rig, antennas
etc.

And third we don't all live in an apartment like some
walkie talkie operators. Some of us have room for any
type antenna we desire.

I was working in Wellington Ohio this week and
stayed at the Oberlin Inn next to the collage in
Oberlin. Since I was so close to you I thought
about stopping by then you can show me your
antenna farm Steve. Next time I'm in the area I
think I will, unannounced.

When I find myself in the area again and I have
time to spare. I'm not going to make a special
drive there just to stop by your place. However I
thought about stopping by, since I was in the
area, but I didn't have the address with me. I
figured it would take me about an hour to drive
from Oberlin to your city, if you really do live
in Medina Ohio. And I have to be sure about that
before I'll even bother about the drive out there.
All I need is a street address, or you have a
listing in the phone book so I can call
information to get it. Next week I'll likely be
working in Elgin Illinois, which is north west of
Chicago, so it maybe a while before I'm out your
way again.

Oh, one more thing, what is the main course of
study at Oberlin college anyway? It seems funny to
have a big college in such a tiny dump of a town
in the middle of nowhere like Oberlin. They have a
nice park in the town center with the college
buildings around it, but there isn't much of
anything else in town to recommend it.

Just send me an email, I'll be there with bells on.
