Maco m103 at 45 deg
Anyone ever try mounting a m103 at 45 deg.? Seems that when shooting
skip, the polarization gets tossed around from reflection and I find myself swiching back and forth from the imax to the maco(flat side) while talking to get the best reception while chatting with the same station. Just wanted to know if anyone has ever tried this, and what the results were. I know you can get dual polorized beams, but curious if this has worked for anyone. Thanks, Bill |

Maco m103 at 45 deg
Hello Bill:
Yes the polarity changing from vert to horz and back happens all the time. I would see this with my 4 element Moonraker Beam, having to switch back and forth from vert to horz to hear the skip station. It might be a good call to at least try and see what differences you see with the MaCo 103 at a 45 degree angle. Maybe not a hole lot??!?! The Quad Beam Antennas have two elements in the vertical polarity and two elements in the horizontal polarity, per quad loop element. So they should not be so picky in transmitting or receiving either polarity. Cubex makes a quad for the CB Band, they are at: http://www.cubex.com/CB.htm Jay in the Mojave bdonovan1 wrote: Anyone ever try mounting a m103 at 45 deg.?
