Next EU (REF/DUBUS) EME contest 2009 end of march 2009
The EU (REF/DUBUS) EME contest 2009 (CW/SSB) will take place
on 144 MHz and 10 GHz and up on March 28 / 29. We hope for good
participation and invite everybody to send also "small" logs!

Dear friends, finally we got the color-QSL-cards for our V5/KT6Q
DXpedition! Yesterday I mailed by first class mail 161 QSL-cards
to all stations we got a QSL from. You find a list of QSL rx-ed

This list is updated whenever a new QSL arrived, so you can check
if we got your card and if the QSL for you was mailed already!

Today I post all qsl reply I have received between 1st Jan and
22nd March. These are all qsl for my portable operations in grids,
BL02-HI, CP28-NWT, CN73-OR, CN76-WA, CN85-OR, CN86-WA, DN11-NV,
DN42-WY, and DN53-WY. Please allow ten days for postal.
Any qsl received now will likely wait until April for reply.

EME Activity from Nigeria in next months... LATEST NEWS from
Bodo, dated 2009-03-22: I arrived in Abuja and had some time
to unpack all my boxes. Some of the material is missing but
fortunately nothing that I cannot get over here. I will now
prepare everything for the first QSOs coming weekend. I will
be on 2m first as the dish for 23cm is not ready yet anyway.
I received the licence and the president of NARS (5N0OBA) was
visiting me yesterday. Here the first plan for my activities:

6m & 2m EME DXpedition to South Cook Islands (BG08dr)
Lance W7GJ and Bob ZL1RS will meet in Rarotonga in late March
to operate on 6 and 2 meters from BG08dr. Activity should
commence on 26 March and run until 04 April on both bands,
with an additional 1 or 2 days of activity on 2M possible
until 06 April. 6M callsign E51SIX, and QSLs for 6M only go
to W7GJ - 2M callsign E51EME, and QSLs for 2M only go to ZL1RS

LATEST NEWS from Hermann, DL2NUD nw H44HP, dated 2009-03-24:
After first tests past weekend and still heavy tropical rain
storms Hermann decided to stop operation at QI90 until next
weekend (maybe back 27th or 28th if WX allows) - If all will
be ok further he plans to activate Florida Isl. (RI01AD) for
around 4 days from up maybe monday and maybe later (begin of
april) from RI00AN until latest 6th or 7th april! Remember,
all is possible but due to the tropical situation nothing is
for sure there...!

The JARL Special Station 8J1AXA at JAXA Katsuura Space
Communication Center, Chiba Pref., QM05df will be active on
144MHz/432MHz, Saturday, March 28, 2009. We aim to operate
for the DUBUS 2m CW contest. During Feburary 07 operation with
10 highschool students, we had very good echos on 432 CW/SSB
with 50-200W output. (See DUBUS 2009/1 issue) So why not try it
again! QRG: 144.050 +-QRM (CW/SSB) QRG: 432.015 +-QRM(CW/SSB)
JAXA 18m dish, V-pol. 500 watts maximum output QSL via JH6RTO
I will join them during the EU window only.

Dear colleagues EMErs. in the early afternoon of coming Monday,
March the 30th, I have the chance for testing "science" Moon
bouncing on 10 GHz with the 32 m dish of Medicina (Bologna).
I will surely do my best in order to "occasionally" test with
hams too! The frequency is likely to be 10368.150 and the out
power about 35W. During next week end more details about timing.

16 Seasoned DX'ers Going to LORD HOWE (QF98)!
LATEST NEWS from, VK9LA, dated 2009-03-24: The first teammates
have arrived on the Island and limited operations are being
conducted by N2OO, VK4FW, N2OZ and W5SL. The rest of the crew
arrives today at Blue Lagoon. The team has so far has installed
an 80 cw dipole, 40 quarter wave elevated vertical, 30 elevated
vertical and 3 ele triband yagi. The Warc vertical goes up in
first daylight as well as the 160 antenna. They now have 4
stations on the air. Operators Stan/SQ8X and Pete/SQ9DIE have
added a daily blog daily on Twitter.com. Look for regular

Philippines, DU. Max, M0GHQ will be visiting the Philippines
between late March and late April. He expects to operate from
the islands of Cebu, Samal, 29-31 March) and Mindanao, and to
attend the Philippine Amateur Radio Association's 77th annual
hamvention, to be held on 17-19 April on Leyte Island. He plans
to be active on 160-10 metres (plus possibly 6 metres) SSB,
PSK31 and RTTY with 100 watts and wire antennas.

The radio amateurs of the City of Debrecen remind us to these
historical events 160 years ago by issuing special callsigns
and a Commemorative Diploma as HG160FNY. The activity is
starting on April 1, 2009, ending on July 31, 2009 using the
callsigns listed below. Our licence is valid until Dec. 31,
2009, allowing us to take up some other special events later

active as IL7G from the Tremiti Islands (JN72RC) from 30 May
