MFJ-929 and a Yaesu FT-857
Try to connect a MFJ-929 and a Yaesu FT-857. Use a MFJ-5114Y cable to
connect. Which parameter should I select on both for start tuning process by push the tune button on tuner? When select tuner on transceiver and the right transceiver selected on tuner nothing happens. 73 Ralf, DL2MRB -- Vy 73 es 55 de Ralf, DL2MRB |

Which parameter should I select on both for start tuning process by push the tune button on tuner? You'll need to inform the FT-857 that it has a CAT-compatible tuner attached. Check your owner's manual. If I recall correctly, there are two menu items that you'll need to set. One of them tells the radio that there's a slave CAT device attached, and the other tells it to talk to a tuner via the CAT port. -- Dave Platt AE6EO Hosting the Jade Warrior home page: http://www.radagast.org/jade-warrior I do _not_ wish to receive unsolicited commercial email, and I will boycott any company which has the gall to send me such ads! |

Thank you for answering.

When I select a tuner on FT-857 options, CAT type option turn automatically to tuner and isn't changeable. Since I try to connect and several options on this tuner, think I notice a burned smell coming out from this tuner. Works normally, maybe some device burned down by using any wrong option on this MFJ-929. 73 Ralf, DL2MRB -- Vy 73 es 55 de Ralf, DL2MRB |
