Tell you what, Jeff - if you want to make a friend for life, go buy the guy
a nice new electric blanket and swap him. You'll both be happy, and you'll
be getting off cheap.

When I went looking for a similar one-second pulse a couple of years ago, I
traced it to a neighbor's electric livestock fence. I had never met that
guy either, so volunteered to "fix" his fence myself at no cost to him. He
cheerfully agreed. To make a long story short, I found 56 corroded, poorly
done splices in the fence and it took me two days to fix them all!

Thanks to all who responded.

I found the source - an electric blanket in my neighbor's house! I
took my portable shortwave and found the LOUD 1 second pulsing rather
quuickly. It's the cheap switching power supply that's the problem.
Now I just need to convince them to get another brand (I believe it's
made by Perfect Fit - they already have complaints filed with the FCC)

Jeff
