Tell you what, Jeff - if you want to make a friend for life, go buy the guy
a nice new electric blanket and swap him. You'll both be happy, and you'll be getting off cheap. When I went looking for a similar one-second pulse a couple of years ago, I traced it to a neighbor's electric livestock fence. I had never met that guy either, so volunteered to "fix" his fence myself at no cost to him. He cheerfully agreed. To make a long story short, I found 56 corroded, poorly done splices in the fence and it took me two days to fix them all! K8AC "Jeff L" wrote in message ... Thanks to all who responded. I found the source - an electric blanket in my neighbor's house! I took my portable shortwave and found the LOUD 1 second pulsing rather quuickly. It's the cheap switching power supply that's the problem. Now I just need to convince them to get another brand (I believe it's made by Perfect Fit - they already have complaints filed with the FCC) Jeff |
