Default Boycott Time?

The sentiments expressed below are relevant to
the whole world of Ham Radio.

If we do not take action now about what are essentially
CB licences, then we can have no complaint in the future
when Ham Radio is treated by the powers-that-be as a variation
of CB Radio.

We value the privilege of designing and making our own radios.

The thin end of the wedge is already there in some places, Spain,
for example, where you cannot fire up your own TX unless it has
been subject to scrutiny (expensively so) by government scientists.

We _MUST_ exhort all M3/CB Fools' Licensees to either
move to a better licence class or to not come on the bands
at all.

If they come onto the bands, we _MUST_ refuse to QSO with them.

Perhaps it is time to remind everybody why the
self-respecting _REAL_ Radio Ham boycotts any
M3/CB Fools' Licensee he comes across on the bands?
(Those who QSO with M3/CB Fools Licensees identify
themselves as CBers-Masquerading-As-Radio-Hams)

It is because the M3/CB Licence is not a Ham Radio licence
by any stretch of the imagination. Ham Radio is a technical
pursuit for those suitably qualified and motivated, and the
requirements for entry to the gangrenous degeneration that
is the M3/CB Fools' Licence scheme are so ridiculously low
that no technical standard whatsoever is represented by the
passing of those requirements. Those who support the scheme
also support the thin end of the wedge of CBisation and all
that that entails.

We should encourage those who may be self-motivated to become
Radio hams to decline to take out a licence under the gangrenous
degeneration that is the M3/CB Fools' Licence scheme because all
those who hold, or who have ever held, such a licence will never make
it into the ranks of _REAL_ Radio Hams, not least because Radio Hams
have gentlemanly traditions that the M3/CB Fools' Licensees
demonstrate to a man in this NG that they severely lack.

We must apologise to such candidates that certain people who
should have known better (The "L.I.A.R.S" who are adepts at
bull****ting, at side-stepping , and at downright lying) have contrived
to put the unnecessary hurdle of the Fools' Licence qualification
in their path. However, only CB-types fall at that first hurdle and
take out a licence under the gangrenous degeneration that is the
M3/CB Fools' Licence scheme. Any budding Radio Ham worthy of the
name waits until he is properly qualified before taking out any
form of licence.
