As to the following, you armchair lawyers love to find passages in the regs and apply them out of context. For example, reading the following makes me think that the FCC has erred every time they've fined Howard Stern and when they fined all the stations after the Janet Jackson brouhaha. The ONLY content they are allowed to regulated under the law, even that one is obscene and indecent material, and that's it. As long as it not obscene or indecent the FCC can't regulate it. That's not what the passage you cited says. But you see, they can pretty much do what they want. Of course armchair lawyers think they can win these cases in court. Go ahead. If you think you can say anything you want on the air, have a ball. When you have your ass handed to you by the FCC, give me a jingle, I'll be glad to hand you a towel. -- LRod Master Woodbutcher and seasoned termite Shamelessly whoring my website since 1999 http://www.woodbutcher.net Proud participant of rec.woodworking since February, 1997 |
