writes I have been pondering this idea on and off, but can't tell if it would be worth the effort to do something like this. Can you make a decent living selling small quantities of parts - passives, crystals, oscillators, solid state, IC's , even exotic things like back diodes and mmic's - via mail order. Or, do the large parts houses like Digi Key have the field sewn up? Don't know if it's of any help but I buy items on-line, by phone & locally and what I look for in all suppliers a 1. Useful stock 2. Good price to me at SIT (soldering iron tip) 3. Someone at the other end who knows what they are talking about, the help full suggestion of a suitable alternative that is in stock, or even an alternative supplier for the really tricky one would always earns a return visit in my book. If I get good service I don't keep it to myself. Good Luck (and don't forget your potential overseas customers !!). -- Dick GM0MNL |
