Default cw adapter htx-10

Hello all,

I have the schematic for this altoids project but there is no parts list
that I can find. I can build them but getting parts is different. My last
project was a rockmite 20. I was successful but this project is only by
schematic. If anyone knows anything about this thing, can you help me out.
I have a feeling once I get started, I may have quite a few questions. Is a
relay a relay a relay? K1 is a relay but does it have to be what he
suggests? I will probably get that relay but I am trying to learn as well.
Thanks so much.

Also,
I am looking now at digi-key.com and am wondering, how many watt resistors I
will need. Wow, a lot to learn.

Thanks

All relays are not the same. If the adapter is the one shown at
http://www.qsl.net/n5ib/page2.html
then it is a 2 pole 12 volt relay. You should use the one he
used, until you are comfortable that you know enough to
figure out a different one. A different relay is a good idea,
as the circuit uses power from the htx 10 and the relay
consumes most of it. A different relay that uses less power
would be a better choice. The one on the web site uses
..72 watts.

But, since you did not post a reference to the schematic,
we can only guess that it is the one at the site mentioned
above. Next time, post a url where we can see the schematic
you are using.

On your question about resistors - 1/4 watt will be fine.

Here is a link to a PDF file that came from QRP Quarterly. I think it's the
mod you are talking about and explains all the parts.

Use K1 as specified, and order 1/4w resistors.

K1 is Digikey Part 255-1002-ND - Mouser may have them for less $$ (Aromat
TQ2E-12V)

For NPN's use 2N2222A or equiv. (TP2222, PN2222A, etc)

For PNP I'd use 2N2907's as they are a little more sturdy than the 2N3906

There is no side tone generated with this mod.

Let us know how it turns out! Have fun!
