All,
In case you missed the announcement on the ARRL website: http://www.arrl.org/news/features/20...11/10326/?nc=1 Collins Radio celebrates it's 75th year over the next week, starting on 9/20/2008 at 0:01 UTC though 9/26/2008 23:59 UTC. Why do you care? Well... If you collect QSL cards and would like to get the card that celebrates this once in a lifetime event, all you need to do is operate 4 out of the 6 club stations and get a QSL card from each, then turn in these 4 cards for the special event certificate. It will be quite a challenge to get 4 of the stations in the next week, but if you have the time and keep an eye on the DX Spotting clusters this could be a fun thing to try. Why do I care? Well, personally I'll be operating W5ROK for a number of hours during this event. We are competing among ourselves to see who can do the best job of logging QSO's. I don’t think I’ll win, but I intend to make it as hard as I can on the guys who will. I plan to operate voice and PSK and I need your help getting your call into our log! Warm up that station, watch the DX spotting clusters and give us a call. Let's Operate! KC4UAI |
