One wonders why someone that stupid knows Morse code. :-) Indeed - Morse Code skill and stupidity are usually negatively correlated.....;-) He was foolish and unprepared, yes, if the only emergency equipment he had was a flashlight. Even smart people are sometimes foolish and caught unprepared. Like that family that took a short cut in Oregon, made a wrong turn or two, and wound up lost for several days.
