ahh, the pungent tang of Fleet's Phospho-Soda. Good luck on the
"up-periscope" procedure. I dunno if you've had one before, my first
was in March.

Jim:

Don't I wish it was Phospo-Soda! I had something called "Lo-So Prep"
this time, and it was awful! Made Fleet's seem like a Diet Sprite by
comparison! I'm an old hand at the colonoscopy procedure, having had
polyps removed in '86. It's a lot better these days -- the instrument is
flexible, and they sedate you before the procedure. I was "lights out" and
just woke up about a half-hour later with the whole experience "behind"
me, as it were!

Damn Larry,

If that doesn't get "flamed" here, I would be surprised. Kinda "studying"
for that exam eh?? Just kidding.

Yup. Sure had plenty of time in the "reading room" on Monday!

I think they'll find what the rest of us already knew. ;^)

But seriously, hope it goes well and you check OK.

Brian:

Thanks for the kind words. It did go well. I had an Endoscopy and
a Colonoscopy at the same time, so they got me from both ends! I
don't have the results yet, but the examination was routine, as opposed
to being driven by a specific problem -- at least as far as the Colonoscopy
was concerned. The Endoscopy was to diaganose the cause of my
GERD -- or GastroEsophageal Reflux Disease. I've been on Prilosec(R)
for about 6 years now, and just thought it was about time they took a
look under the hood to see if the problem can be fixed, rather than just
having me throw expensive prescription drugs at it for the rest of my
life.

OK. There you have it. End of debate. Larry has just stated that someone
who knows the sending of SOS knows "the Morse code."

Except that the sleeper ship was sending "CQ", not "SOS". Which may actually
have been a form of inside joke, because one of the pet peeves of many was
the
too-long CQ with no breaks to listen.

But seriously, folks. I wonder why Kim hasn't weighed in on this one.
There's some kind of tension going on between these two, and what an
Opening! Eww, that's not the kind of opening...

Whatever.

Nevermind.

Larry, this is starting to sound like HF SSB. I hope your microphone
is still put away.

The doctor found yours, Len ;-)

Was the doctor a proctologist or a pathologist?

Steve, K4YZ

In my case, he's a Gastroenterologist.
