I wanted to say thanks to all who responded and to provide an update in case
anyone else has a similar problem.

My VEC contacted the ARRL VEC office and they corrected the error. A new
Amateur Extra callsign was issued along with the status change, and
presumably a new operator's license certificate will arrive in the mail.

well good for you fellow glad to hear the offcil channels worked as
they are suposed to
