Default New To Police Scanners! (NEED ADVICE)

Can anyone help me with my decision on what Police Scanner to purchase?
I almost purchased a Radio Shack Handheld Scanner until I realized it
was an analog Scanner. No Good for me. I'm really new to the Scanner
Thing and NEED some expert advice. I need to know what the name of a
good unit (Handheld perferably) and where to purchase it from. But
since I'm a newbie, any information would be greatly appreciated. THANK
YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY INFO SENT.

go to http://www.radioreference.com and look up the systems you want
to monitor to see if you require digital capable scanner. The best
radio for the money for digital and analog is the BCD396T or 996T
available at
http://www.usascan.com/files/scanners.html

I don't know why the owner is advertising a digital camera on the
digital scanner page, but don't order that! The price includes
shipping.

It's because there is a special savings if it is ordered in conjunction with
any of the scanners on the page...

Try tghe following web address:

http://www.grove-ent.com

They're a reputable mail order company and I have bought the Uniden BC296T
handheld scanner from them about a year ago.
