Swiveling BNC-To-BNC Connector For Handheld Scanner Antenna ?
Hi,
I know a very few handheld scanner antennas come with one already built in, but does anyone know of a source (assuming they exist) for a BNC to BNC that swivels between them ? Would like to add a swivel feature to a scanner antenna that does not swivel. BTW: any opinions on whether this degrades any signals, etc. ? Thanks, Bob |

Swiveling BNC-To-BNC Connector For Handheld Scanner Antenna ?

... does anyone know of a source (assuming they exist) for a BNC to BNC that swivels between them ? I've used a pair of right-angle BNC adapters to provide a universal joint. The arrangement allowed the antenna to sit along the side of the scanner while clipped to a belt, without poking me in the ribs. And, yes, it also provided an attenuator in the process. |

it will degrade the signals,
how about using a pull up telescopic, cheap and its free with the aerial. mike "Robert11" wrote in message . .. From OP: Swiveling BNC-To-BNC Connector For Handheld Scanner Antenna ?
Hi Guys,
Hi Guys, Thanks for the suggestion of the 2 BNC right angles. This truly fits into my category of: "gosh, why didn't I think of that !" Just a quick follow up" I realize that anything in the antenna feed loop degrades signals top some extent, but how can (just) two BNC's degrade any to a "meaningful" extent " I don't have the tables in front of me, but at the UHF freq's are the BNC losses that high ? Thoughts on ? Thanks again, Bob ----------------------------- "Robert11" wrote in message . .. It isn't excessive but I do know that they helped reduce some pager intermod that I was getting, without harming the strong signals I wanted. Of course, folding the antenna down so that it lay alongside the scanner case blocked all but the strongest signals. If you want to get the exact figures, look for specs on UG-306/U or Amphenol 31-009. |
