Not familiar with the Alinco radio, but does it require a stereo, or a
mono, plug on the cable.

Radio Shack PRO92, 93, 95 scanners require mono, and will work with a
stereo/mono adapter on the end of a cable which has a stereo plug. Such
adapters are available at Radio Shack, and other such suppliers.

Incidently, the plug is on the cable, the jack is on the radio. Plugs
are male, jacks are female :-).
