Most of the time they get the info from "someone" at the cop shop. The cops
are told they are encrypted when it is simply digital. I was covering a story about the local Sheriff on a ride along. He told me the new radio system was encrypted and that it was against the law for anyone to listen to them. I didn't pull out my Pro-96 and bust his bubble... It never dawned on them how I always appear at newsworthy locations shortly after they do. "Greg" wrote in message ... I read on a web site that Florida Highway Patrol, Troop C, has joined other state agencies on a new EDACS ProVoice digital system. (On another forum they're saying that FHP is using encryption.) If the ProVoice info is correct, can this be monitored with the newest TrunkTrackers like the Uniden BC796? Thanks. Greg |
