Default Help with Regency Z10.

Greetings! I picked up a Regency Z10 ten channel scanner the other day
and have it working again. My daughter wants a scanner to listen to
the local sheriffs department, etc. I would love to have a copy of the
owners manual to figure out a couple of things, but the big problem is
the memory. I assumed it had a battery backup to store freqs in memory,
but I cannot find a battery anywhere in it. As soon as you unplug it
it loses what I put in. It does go back to what was in it previously,
so I need your help. How do you input freqs into memory so they stay
put? Does it have an internal battery that doesn't look like a
battery? Help appreciated please! Thanks and have a great weekend!
Jon.

Memory is backed up by a capacitor, C177, a 0.047 Farad 5.5V radial
electrolytic. It's on the right side of the main board near the center line
of the board. Below the cap is CR116, the diode that feeds the backup
circuit. Check both components and replace as needed.

Greetings Frank! Thanks so much for the info! I will make that a
project for the weekend. I loaned a nice scanner that I had bought for
my dad who died last summer to my daughter who has my 4 year old
grandson. I love the boy to death, but the longer it stays at their
house the less likely it comes home in one piece.
Do you or anyone else know where I can get a copy of the owners manual
for the Regency Z-10? I know my son in law can read the book instead
of calling me when they have questions. Thanks again for the help!
Have a great week! Jon.

Greetiings Frank! You are the man! Thanks so much for the info! I
see some other manuals I might have to get. The price is resonable as
well. Have a great week! Jon.
