Hi everybody,
I am still working on preparing my trip to Miami next month, and I came acros this page http://www.bellscb.com/cb_radio_hobb...leet_codes.htm with info about the frequencies used by the police in Miami. I am a little confused here. The website lists two frequencies groups: TYPE I: 854.9625 855.2125 855.4625 855.7125 856.2125 856.4625 856.7125 856.9625 857.4625 857.7125 857.8625 857.9625 858.2125 858.7125 858.9625 859.2125 859.4625 859.9625 860.2125 860.4625 860.7125 and TYPE II: 856.7875 856.9125 857.7875 857.9125 858.7875 858.9125 859.7875 859.9125 860.7875 860.9125 Since they are in the 800MHz range, I suppose that these are trunkated frequencies, but what are TYPE I and TYPE II? My PRO-97 comes with the following modes: CTCSS/CT, DCS/DC, Motorola/MO (pre-rebanding), EDACS, LTR. I am under the impression that TYPE I and TYPE II are probably Motorola, but then how can I find out with these are pre or post -rebanding (I think that my PRO-97 will not be able to scan rebanded Motorola frequencies, alas). Could I listen to TYPE I AND TYPE II at the same time? If yes, in which order should I enter these frequencies in my bank? Do I also need to enter the fleet IDs or does this receiver do that automatically? (the IDs are also given on the web page above). Many thanks in advance for your help, VS PS: for those who helped me with the Miami Sheraton frequencies question: I just came back from a chess championship in Orlando which took place at the Traveloge in Kissimmee (South of Orlando). I used my PRO-97 Signal Stalker to scan for the hotel's frequencies. In less than 5 min I had them all. The hotel's main frequency was 150.90500, but it also used the following four 462.32500, 462.57500, 464.03750 and 469.03750. In two days of scanning I did not identify any specific service using any one rather than the other. Their main frequency, 150.90500, was used for pretty much everything from calling in a repair to ordering more towels. I did not identify any security frequency, but then neither did I see any dedicated security personnel. As promised, when I come back from Miami, I will post a short report about the Sheraton there. |
