On 2006 Jul 28 0748Z: Bz: -2.7 nT. Aurora Activity Level was 8 at 0618 UTC. Summary for last 24 hours: Space weather for the past 24 hours has been moderate. Geomagnetic storms reaching the G2 level occurred. Forecast for next 24 hours: Space weather for the next 24 hours is expected to be minor. Geomagnetic storms reaching the G1 level are expected. http://propagation.hfradio.org/ (NW7US, SWL mail list) The space weather/propagation connection is still a mystery to me. Sometimes propagation conditions follow the weather and sometimes it does not. Actually shortwave propagation has very little if anything to do with the 'weather'. The 'space' part comes in because of the effect the sun has on propagation. Therefore it is 'space weather' vs. terrestrial weather. dxAce Michigan USA |
