Default LATEST NEWS FROM THE MEDIUM WAVE CIRCLE

LATEST NEWS FROM THE MEDIUM WAVE CIRCLE
=============================================

The MWC continues to publish Medium Wave News both on paper and
electronically for its members. But we've been busy since earlier this
year upgrading our website www.mwcircle.org

This website is now a vital point on the internet for anyone interested
in medium wave radio. For example you will find he

1) A substantial collection of over 50 independent receiver reviews has
been added, rescued from Radio Netherlands.

2) Live Solar Terrestrial Data direct from NOAA is now fed directly to
our Home Page;
http://www.mwcircle.org/index.htm

3) "Hear Some DX"; a selection of DX sound clips from around the globe.
http://www.mwcircle.org/page10.htm

4) QSL cards and letters many of which cannot be found anywhere else on
the internet
http://www.mwcircle.org/page20.htm

6) A glossary "Jargon Buster" has been added to help newcomers to the
hobby
http://www.mwcircle.org/page70.htm

7) An Introduction to Long Distance Medium Wave Listening

8) An on-line interactive DRM receiver has been added.

And of course you can join the Circle and renew your membership online.

This year the Circle has expanded its collection of CDs available from
the on-line shop http://www.mwcircle.org/mcd.htm and that includes:
* UK & Ireland LW & MW Transmitters
* Radio Caroline 1983-1987
* Laser 558 1984-86
* Sony ICF2010/ICF2001D Archive CD
* Offshore Radio Collection

Furthermore this year the Circle closed its paper reprint service and
converted the entire collection of articles to pdf and published them
on one CD.

And this Autumn a major task of historic proportions was completed. The
complete paper archive of Medium Wave News magazines going back to the
1950s has been scanned as pdfs onto a CD collection; a wonderful
resource for anyone interested in MW radio or radio history.

Finally if MW radio is your "cup of tea" why not consider joining us at
the Circle? You can also read a free sample copy of Medium Wave News
on-line http://www.mwcircle.org/page17.htm to see what it's all about.

Good listening
