I've said some not-so-nice things about RF Systems products over the
years. However, I spent much of this past weekend trying out their MTA antenna and it turned out to be a lot more fun than I anticipated. So far as I can tell, reports that this antenna delivers an excellent S/N ratio are not exaggerated. It can't perform miracles and it's not the equal of a longwire in quiet conditions, but for someone in a noisy environment it picks up less electrical noise than any other antenna I've ever used (including the Wellbrook)--and by quite a wide margin. I was very surprised. And it's a passive antenna, a big plus all by itself. Always nice to be pleasantly surprised. Steve |
