Good luck with your test.

One of these days I want to play around with some of Dallas Lankford's
low noise vertical antenna designs.

BTW.....if you want to look at my listening shack....I have a picture
up on QRZ.com under my call KG4BIG.

Dallas's active antennas configured as a dipole and mounted horizontal
allow
the desired signal to be peaked, or noise nulled. 2 of these dipoles
mounted
as vertical dipoles and coupled to his new simple phaser allow
electronic
steering.

His new 15' relay switched vertical works very well, but may need to be
amplified
for use with the phaser. The rain stopped that experiment.

His simpler active antenna shown in his "Low Noise Active Antenna AC/DC
Power Supplies"
is a good antenna for locations that have "reasonable" MW signals. My
local 770KHz pest
is strong enough to give some 2nd harmonic and I have some mix of the
770 and 1240.
