I just got a new (as in "not refurbished") E1XM, but three of the six
"soft buttons" don't seem to work some of the time. (Not only don't they do anything, they don't even make the beep the other ones do.) The buttons that aren't working are the second, third, and fourth buttons from the left below the display (i.e. the AGC, RW, and PBT buttons in AM/SW mode, and the Favorites A and B and Display Channel Name buttons in XM mode. I tried unplugging the radio and doing a microprocessor reset, but those didn't work...then I tried saving a channel as a favorite in XM mode by pressing "Store", and when it asked for "A" or "B", the buttons started working again. Has anybody else had similar symptoms with their E1/E1XM - and if so, is there a permanent fix (short of "send it back for repair")? -- Don |

And, we all know about the horrendously over-priced, over-hyped cheap plastic boxed/switches piece-of-**** S350, and S350 look-alikes ! |

If you've only just purchased the unit, I'd suggest that you send it back to the retailer for an exchange. |

Well, under which conditions do they work. (Not only don't they do anything, they don't even make the beep the other ones do.) I'm totally confused now. Do some of the buttons work some of the time, all of the buttons work some of the time or some of the buttons not work at all. The buttons that aren't working are the second, third, and fourth buttons from the left below the display (i.e. the AGC, RW, and PBT buttons in AM/SW mode, and the Favorites A and B and Display Channel Name buttons in XM mode. Are there some modes in which they are inoperative? I tried unplugging the radio and doing a microprocessor reset, but those didn't work...then I tried saving a channel as a favorite in XM mode by pressing "Store", and when it asked for "A" or "B", the buttons started working again. They have several phone and email links and a fax number. Since it is so new I would just return it to the authorized dealer you bought it from for a replacement. |
