Of course it can, and does. Stop thinking in analog terms. All a digital
signal needs is 1s and 0s. How much bandwidth do you think that needs?

To put it in terms that you might understand, think of it like Morse Code.
Code needs less bandwidth - and less power - but the message gets thru just
fine. Why do you suppose that is?
