morning, midday, afternoon and evening ratings."

Today it was announced that WLW's morning personality, Gary Burbank, will
retire. Half the ratings on this station come from his show....

Quite an upward trend in HD Radio interest!

And there is no other AM for the next 13 ranked positions in the market.

Even your fellow IBOC shills know AM-HD is dead - From Mike Walker
avsforum today:

AM itself is near-death, but HD AM is on nearly every viable AM in the top
75 to 100 markets.

It does not work that way. The proximity of the ratings of the #1 station
and the first eight or ten others in most markets is dramatic... usually no
more than a share or so difference between #1 and #10 in most markets. This
means, to the ad buyer, that there are 10 #1 stations and rates can be
negotiated agressively.

This is very true. I have, in fact, had owners ask NOT to be #1 as they
believe the maintenance costs of a #1 station are high, and everyone comes
gunning for you, too.

WLW comes in loud and clear in Columbus. They're on HD too, one of the
three HD stations you can get with the supplied indoor HD antenna.

I never listen to WLW, however. It seems to be aimed at some other
demographic.

The other two being whatever they're calling 1230 now. Used to be
WCOL ; and WOSU 820. The latter stays on HD well after dark, I'm not
sure how they justify that.

You can pick up WJR 760 Detroit HD with an outdoor antenna.

You can hear other HD hiss but not pick up whatever is causing it in HD.
