And a potential buyer would want to see such an installation up and running on someone else's dime before closing on a property of questionable viability and high price. Ah. Maybe that explains why WLS continues to run their AM Stereo pilot at night. Frank Dresser |

Being one of the first to implement and one of the best examples of the potential of what AM Stereo could do (once platform motion was resolved) it's a nice tip of the hat to the history of the station to hang on to AM Stereo in whatever way it can. |

Yes, it does. Untill they reslove a "live cue" system delay issue, they do not use it in the morning news block, however. |

No, actually the issue is that digital introduces a delay, around 8 seconds, and KGO used direct off air cues for news reporters rather than a separate system. Other than the morning news block, KGO is HD in all permitted hours. |

Did you mean "Hot Topics"? http://www.kgoam810.com/KeywordSearc...d=HD&x=12&y=19 |

None of the stations that start broadcasting really have to notify anyone when they start. An HD notification to the FCC is all that is required, and then the facility can be built for HD at their convenience. KGO decided to get a new transmitter and do some additional work prior to commencing HD broadcasts, which they did last month. |
