AM HD is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist and is technically flawed because there is no clean way to transition from pure analog AM transmission to digital transmission. IBiquity and AM broadcasters know this but they seem intent on ignoring the technical issues. You just can't throw away billions of analog receivers and get everyone to buy a more expensive digital one. The market just isn't there as most AM listeners just don't care. jw |
