Default Sailing vessel Cambio (sp?)

Am hearing comms at 0226 utc b/w Camslant and sailing vessel Cambio on
2182 khz. They're talking about a vessel in distress, which may be
Cambio itself. White flares have been fired. Camslant said they'd try
to contact Cambio again at 0245.

Cambio isn't the vessel in distress. Rather, it sighted the vessel in
distress but it's still unclear what the name of the affected vessel
is, though the Coast Guard does have its approximate location and is
on its way there.

Camslant was also communicating with a vessel named "Cherub Cloud",
which also sighted the distress flares.

Man, if I took down the coordinates of these vessels accurately,
they're way out there...hundreds of miles west of the Bahamas. Ouch.

Perhaps this is the same Cherub Cloud referenced above:

Just heard Camslant talking to another vessel, named "Timberlight" or
"Timberlake"...something like that. Timberlight had apparently also
seen distress flares, and Camslant was inquiring whether they spotted
any sort of debris in the water. Unfortunately I had no copy on
Timberlight, so I don't know what the reply was.

This is actually pretty interesting. Camslant is trying to get a fix
on where the distressed vessel is, so they're asking the folks who saw
the flare to describe its angle of elevation from their locations, the
duration of burn, etc. In one case they asked someone to estimate how
many "knuckles" above the horizon it was.

Anyone else listening to this?

And, interestingly, if you look at the list of ships mentioned here
that are taking part in the Caribbean 1500, it includes a sailboat
called "Cambio" and a sailboat called "Cherub Cloud".

Well, in that case, you're probably right about the ship's name.

I hope they're all right. I would hate for something to happen on this
most auspicious day for shipwrecks.

Yeah, the Edmund Fitzgerald, November 10, 1975.
