CC Radio Shortwave - How is It?

I was on the CC Crane site and noticed they have a CC Radio with shortwave. Does any one have this radio yet? My brother has a regular CC Radio and I was thinking of getting him a new one for Christmas. But now saw this new CC Radio shortwave. If any of you have it or have heard anything about it - how is it? How is the audio when listening to talk stations on AM? Is the sound comparable to the regular CC Radio? How is the AM reception? How if FM and shortwave reception? Thanks! Is there anything to pick up on SW now besides religious fanatics? |

Here's the situation - my brothers CC Radio is old and on it's last legs although it does pick up stations and the sound is all fine. I was thinking - either get him a new CC Radio or maybe get him the CC Crane SW/Kaito radio. |

No, they are the same radio's, just different badges.
As RHF pointed out, there is a lot of discussion on this in the Redsun Yahoo discussion group. Plus Passport has discussed it a lot. See: http://www.passband.com/kaito-ka2100-price-plunge/ browse around that site and you will find a lot more on the various badges the original Redsun RP2100 are using. No, the Heartland America one is not the same - it lacks some features. Go with the Kaito KA2100 from Universal @ $90 = a great buy John Plimmer Montagu, South Africa |
