Mark,

Thanks for posting the nice recording. I would presume you are hearing
the transmitter, as it is the more powerful signal. There is quite a bit
of path loss to the moon and back, so if you are only hearing -one-
signal, bet on it being the stronger (terrestrial) signal.

Also, to hear a reflection from the moon, the moon has to be above the
horizon. As the moon was high overhead in the USA for the duration of
the test, wouldn't the moon have already set (or not yet risen) in
Canberra?
