past years ago i haved a AR5000, great product.
i dont remember to have any problem with it.
I have the PDF of the "operating manual" part 5-17 there is the wiring
of the RS232:

AR5000__PCdb9
__2_____2
__3_____3
__5_____5 (ground)
__7_____7
__8_____8


AR5000__PCdb25
__2_____3
__3_____2
__5_____7 (ground)
__7_____4
__8_____5

what is your OS ? if its Vista this could be the problem, i haved my
AR5000 with Xp, without any problems. If you use a serial/USB converter
there is 99% chances to have problems.
