Thanks. It would be a fitting article for alt.radio.pirate.

Feel free to post it there.

Just wondered if you were aware of that group :-)

Yes, I'm aware of it, but not involved there.

No problemo.

It's generally pretty dead on the shortwave bands here in Sweden.
The sunspot number is 2 or something at the moment, so I guess that's
the main reason...

Terrible conditions here as of late as well, this past DX season was a bummer other than
hearing and QSL'ing PMA Radio (The Cross) out of Micronesia back in October.

Yes indeed. I just bought a Sangean ATS-909, perhaps not the "sharpest
knife in the toolbox", but good enough for casual listening, I guess.
I use a simple indoors wire antenna in the ceiling.

And speaking of which, as far as I know they are still off of SW not having returned since
October 27, 2007 due to changing their antenna.

I've exchanged some emails with them, the latest being back in March and they said that they
were still working on the antenna.

Hm... looking at spaceweather.com, I see that the sunspot number for
today is suddenly at 34. Maybe I should take a listen...

What exactly is pirate radio? How does one find such a station and
also do they usually broadcast talk radio or music or both or
something completely different?

Thanks,
Haci
