How about CBS editing out major McCain foreign policy gaffe a couple
days ago? WTF is that about?

What are you complaining about...I thought the problem was only talk
radio.

Make up your mind, Buckwheat.

That is ratings-driven infotainment. People can't take their eyes off
him. Let's face it, Mr. McCain doesn't really ooze charisma.

The subject however is the lack of diverse opinions on the talk radio and
the distorted impression of what is mainstream opinion that distortion
creates.

Ah. So, only talk radio need be balanced. Got it.

Balance has nothing to do with it. Their goal is to stifle free speech.
Conservative speech that is. They can't succeed in the open market so they
need Congress to do it for them.

The problem is, for whatever reason, *Liberal* talk radio can't seem to find a
loyal enough listener base that would encourage advertisers, so therefore they
either fail, or on a limited number of outlets.

It would seem to me that advertisers don't really care what political persuasion
buyers of their product(s) are as long as their money is green.

Perhaps that's because the format is often on weaker stations with
****ty signals, vs. the righties being on flamethrowers. The
Progressive Talk format does better on key demos in a few markets, and
beats sports talk in quite a few more.

Ah. So, only talk radio need be balanced. Got it.

It is a finite resource and part of the commons. It should not be used
to the detriment of one part of the people while advancing the interests
of a much smaller part of society.

And who gets to determine that? You?

If there were no lister interest, there would be no commercial
support, so there would be no program.

Suggesting that much smaller part of society....ain't so small.

And so there you do it, again...accepting without challenge the
validity of sources on one side of an issue, while challenging the
validity of the sources on the other side.

It would seem the only difference between you and Limbaugh is that
people listen to Rush.

If you think that the Limbaugh/Hannity/Savage axis represents the
mainstream you are wrong. Bush enjoys the support of maybe 1 out of 4
Americans. The war is opposed by 2 out of 3. We are the mainstream;
the righties are the radicals.
